"Old Woman".:gah:
I parked my car under an Oak tree at church yesterday. There is a swing on the other side and the kids were playing on it after church. One of them came and told me the others were about to hit the car with the swing so I went out to move it.
Some older girl (about 10 years old) that doesn’t even go to church said loud enough for me to hear “Let the old woman move her car first.” The little boy on the swing said “She doesn’t look that old.”
I wanted to tell her something so bad but I was a good old woman and didn’t.
I guess it's better than the alternative. LOL

LOL! Oh dear! That's too funny!
Heck, when I ask my kids how old they think I am, they say "oh, you've got to be at least 21 because THAT is real old!" LOL!

That would have been payback, LouAnn.
Lisa, kids always think parents are old but she didn't have to be so obnoxious about it!
I could say something, but I'd be calling the kettle black, maybe.

She was obviously not brought up properly by her mom and dad to not refer to us old folks OUT LOUD so we can hear them! LOL!

reminds me of when i was a child (about 8) and my mum took my sisters and me shopping we were in a large store and mum bought us all these pretty bags, at the check out there was a rather young girl serving and she said to us isn't that nice of your Nan to buy you treats !!! i was so upset because i looked at my mums face and saw the hurt in her eyes ;( ...my mum was older than most mums she was 44 when she had me, but up until that day i hadn't thought of her as being any different than my mums friends

I'll be in the same boat Stroppy, as I was older (too old!) when I started having kids. I was about as old your mum with my last (yes, I swear he's the last!!!). LOL!

I was 25 and 30 when my kids were born. Older than most Moms, too. But I enjoyed the first 7 years of my married life and it was planned that way.
Lisa, you're right. No respect shown by that kid. That's why I wanted to tear into her. Not because of what she said. I know my age and I know how old I am mentally and physically. Just because I have silver hair don't mean I'm an old coot!!!
As one of the guys in my office affectionately refers to me as "Older 'n dirt and dinosaurs"!
Shit, Sandy, hair dye is cheap and works pretty well these days, my wife has used it for years, but then, she got her a younger man. But, heck, I'm just 38, and still haven't grown up at all. My experience, knowledge, and maturity (believe it or not) has improved, but my innate, um, ridiculosity (not really a word, but it sounds good) has not changed. In fact, both physically and mentally, I feel just like I did when I was 20, just stronger and more confident.
But, still the silly, rabble rousing guy I always was. Then again, unlike the DW, no grey hairs yet.

I've had silver hair since I was 18 and have always had more than my parents. Not as much as now at 55. I dyed it for a few years but it was too hard. Silver doesn't take dye well and I had to do it every 2 weeks. I never had anyone tell me my hair was pretty when I dyed it. Now that it's natural, I've had people actually follow me around the store or go find their husbands to bring them to see my hair. LOL
This pic was 2 years ago. It's now to my waist.

If I had silver hair like Sandy's I'd NEVER dye it. It's gorgeous! I tried to let my gray grow out a few years ago....it looked horrible and I felt OLD. so back to the Loreal!

Your color is like mine, Sandy, mine has just never grown, longest it ever got was to my shoulders. I always told people, all the blood flow to the brain, therefore the hair won't grow. Mine is fine like a babies, can't even keep a bobby pin in it.
But do love your hair! Bet you can't wash and wear in 10 minutes though.
Golden corral, makes me show my id to get senior discount when we go for breakie buffet lmao

Sandy, your hair is gorgeous. Don't touch it. I went to Tim Hortons and got my Cafe Mocha, when the teen rang it up, it wasn't what it normally was. I said .. oh, are they on special this week, she said .. no, that's the senior discount. I'm sure the look on my face was priceless. And yes, I told her I wasn't a senior ... charge me full price. It was a spur of the moment response. And I dye my hair !!!! lol

That's too funny, Luv!
Addy, my hair is very fine, I just have a lot of it. I guess all my blood flow goes to my hair and not my brain. It shows, too! ROFLMAO I wash my hair every morning. It takes less than 5 minutes to blow it dry because it's so fine.

I'm soo sorry--But, all I could think of is church, old oak and swing...that sounds like the little churches you see on movies....

Yeah, I take that back about color. That's pretty cool. Kids will be kids, and say whatever crosses their minds with brutal honesty at times.

Yes, silver takes color real badly and shows the roots in two seconds flat. I have more than 50% white (my mom had white at age 5!!), and I have colored since I was 18. I can say that I am terribly tired of doing it and there are many days I just want to quit and go natural.
My hubby refuses to let me do it and tells me it will age me 20 years. Well, it's not like I'm out there on the dating circuit for it to matter, I tell him. He's just pretending to be married to a much younger chick, and Ms. Clairol helps HIM meet that goal. LOL!
Use it as motivation! Tell him you'll color your hair when he loses 10 lbs. Even 10 lbs. would improve his health a lot.

I'm really considering frosting mine...Of course I'd have to let it go to its natural color first--kinda hard to frost Blonde....My sister does and it really helps to camoflauge her grey instead of cover it...

I am blonde, I have gotten brown dye and just comb it thru my hair before. It gives it the frosted look. I just dyed my hair a light brown. My daughter hates it. She likes it blonde. But, it won't stay long. My hair don't hold a darker color for some reason. My hair has been black, dark brown, Auburn and streaked it with a bright red. I like changing it up .. My hubby is younger (much younger) he still goes out in public with me and my different colored hair ...lol

lol luvmypond, my new hubby is 5 years younger, he complains he can't keep up with me. Never died my hair too busy to want to worry about roots. And never go to a hair dresser, diy hair!

I recently let one of the novices at the shop color me ....and today I have been trying to fix it
lets just say it isn't a natural color right now! ROFLMAO
jeesh and I had nearly all the color gown out and they want to ''Fix" it, don't want me walking around all gray! oh I am fixed all right LOL!!

I like dying my hair. I get bored easily with the same thing. That's just me. My hair is thin and most of the time up in a clip or in a ponytail. Not too often I wear it down. A couple of times, the color went wild. Like orange ... lol I have the same attitude as Meganne, it's just hair. The color never lasts long anyway.

I went to a classier place to have my hair done years ago, it was for one of our anniversaries. My hair was blond going in, told her I wanted something different for me and hubbies night out. $125 later, came home with the same color .... lol I was so pissed. So, I went back to doing it myself. Just go to Walgreen's and start holding boxes up to the side of my face and pick a color.

well it was to dark so my long time co worker put some highlites in it, but I didn't like the brassyness(the novice, directed by the boss who wanted me "warm" ie..red....made me a red brown on the sly, ugh!) the highlites and a toner helped get me through the koi show. but every dAY it gets worse and worse as it goes brass again so I toned it but good ...impatient I I didn't want to hang at the shop so went home with it on and lost track o time. so my brassy highlites were a blue/gray , which a couple shampoos took care of but the base color went a funky orange brown...talk about the wierd color combo!
'so back to the shop I went at 8 oclock! lol! my buddy was still working and had a good laugh!
now my hair is normal but just not the color I want, sometimes you have to settle for normal and cant have what you want
but I did have a stranger compliment me on it today...go figure.
lord knows what it will look like in a couple weeks as the color fades.
mabe I will see how long I can get away with not coloring it again befor my co workers hog tie me and color it again!:lol:

My boss is always trying to make me color my hair and cut. RESIST! I flat out tell her NO, I'm not dying my hair or cutting it.

Sandy it did look good for the show Sandy but it only last a couple weeks before it fades and becomes brassy
being "in the bussiness" I can only buck the system so much...you know, wear it sells it.
you on the other hand can tell your boos to stick it she is only jealous she hasn't got such beautiful hair

You'll just have to keep doing what you did for the show until it grows out. It really did look good.

I agree, I don't see anything wrong with it.
only thing wrong right now is it is on me! to red and does not wear well on me! (and the highlites are cool and the base color warm, that in itself is just not right)
but at least it is fairly normal now. and really shiney. LouAnn, that is one of the differences of good color and wally world's color! but I can compleatly understand the cost deal!
sorry I didn't get a pix when it was really funky.
