    IonGen System
    Model Number
    G-2
    Approximate price paid
    $200
    Where purchased?
    Ebay
How long have you used this product?
    2-6 months
    Pros
Worked great for clearing string algae off the waterfall
    Easy installation options
    Cons
Didn't work at all at clearing green water.
Water needs constant monitoring during use.
Requires special test kits for testing copper and alkalinity and they must be kept in a tight range for the unit to work at all.

    Your review
Over priced for what it does, requires Constant water quality checks during use. I noticed the string algae disappeared within a week, That's the one great thing I can say for the unit. As far as green water I ran it at several different settings and no real change although I could tell there was some changes in clarity during use. Stopped using it and installed a UV light in line where the Ion gen was originally located and the green water was noticeably clearer in less than a week.

You do not want ANYTHING introducing copper into a koi pond. Heavy metal may be great for listening pleasure...but ornamental fish like koi do not cotton to copper. Should have known....look at the name of the vendor.

A good UV lamp would indeed be a better choice.

I have a Ion gen system and used it one time because after researching copper will and does kill the fish-I do not recommend the IonGen system.
