    Replace skimmer?

My pond has an old skimmer with o lid and no way of catching leaves and debris when they enter the skimmer. I would like to replace this skimmer, and wondered if it is possible to do so with water still in the pond?

It is possible depending upon the ponds water depth as you should lower the water level to slightly below the new skimmer depth to install the replacement unit.

I don't see why you couldn't do that just close the valve on the skimmer so I don't start pulling air onto your pump.
At some point common sense must prevail.

Thanks, I was hoping I wouldn't have to drain it down.
